CAC Calculator — Customer Acquisition Cost Tool
Calculate Customer Acquisition Cost by channel. Enter marketing spend and new customers per channel to get blended and per-channel CAC, efficiency rankings, and a trend table to track how your CAC changes over time.
How to Use CAC Calculator — Customer Acquisition Cost Tool
How to Use the CAC Calculator
Step 1: Enter Channel Data
In the Channel Breakdown table, fill in each row with:
- Channel — the name of your acquisition channel (e.g. Paid Search, Social Ads, Outbound Sales)
- Spend ($) — total marketing and sales spend attributed to that channel for the period
- New Customers — the number of net new paying customers acquired through that channel
Use the presets (B2B SaaS, B2C SaaS, Product-Led Growth) to load realistic example numbers.
Step 2: Add or Remove Channels
Click Add Channel to add up to 8 channels. Remove any channel with the trash icon. You can rename any channel to match your actual acquisition mix.
Step 3: Read the Results
- Blended CAC — total spend divided by total new customers across all channels
- Total Spend — sum of all channel spend for the period
- New Customers — total new customers across all channels
- The per-channel table shows each channel sorted by CAC (lowest first), with spend percentage, customer percentage, and a color-coded CAC label
Step 4: Track CAC Over Time
In the CAC Trend section, enter your blended spend and new customers for each period (month, quarter, etc.). The Delta column shows how CAC changed from the previous period — green means CAC decreased (improved efficiency), red means CAC increased.
Tips
- Industry benchmark: B2B SaaS CAC typically ranges $500–$5,000 depending on segment
- Channels with below-blended-average CAC (shown in green) are your most efficient channels
- A rising CAC trend over time often signals market saturation or channel fatigue
