How to Use This Tool

Step 1: Enter Receipt Information

Start by filling in basic receipt details:

Receipt Number:

  • Unique identifier for this receipt
  • Use sequential numbering: REC-001, REC-002, etc.
  • Or include year: REC-2024-001
  • Helps track sales and organize records
  • Required for accounting purposes

Receipt Date:

  • Date of the transaction
  • Defaults to today's date
  • Use when the purchase occurred
  • Important for returns and warranty tracking

Currency:

  • Select the currency for all amounts
  • Matches your business currency or customer preference
  • Options: USD ($), EUR (โ‚ฌ), GBP (ยฃ), CAD, AUD, SGD, INR, JPY
  • Consistent currency symbol used throughout

Step 2: Fill in Merchant Information (Your Business)

Enter your business details that appear on the receipt:

Business Name:

  • Full business name or trading name
  • E.g., "Downtown Electronics" or "The Italian Kitchen"
  • Should match your registered business name

Address:

  • Business address
  • Street address, city, state/province, postal code
  • Single line or formatted address
  • Customers may need this for returns

Phone Number:

  • Business phone number

Step 3: Add Receipt Items

Add line items for products or services purchased:

Description:

  • Clear description of product/service

Quantity:

  • Number of units purchased
  • Can be decimal for weight-based items (e.g., 1.5 lbs)
  • Defaults to 1

Price:

  • Price per unit

Amount (Auto-calculated):

  • Automatically calculates: Quantity ร— Price
  • Updates in real-time as you edit

Adding/Removing Items:

  • Click "Add Item" to add more line items
  • Use trash icon to remove items

Step 4: Set Tax Rate (Optional)

Enter applicable tax rate:

Tax Rate:
