How to Use DNS Record Validator — Live Lookup Tool

How to Use the DNS Record Validator

Step 1: Enter a Domain

Type or paste a domain name (e.g. example.com) into the input field. You can include https:// — it will be stripped automatically.

Step 2: Select Record Types

Toggle the record types you want to check:

  • A — IPv4 address the domain points to
  • AAAA — IPv6 address
  • MX — Mail exchange servers (where email is delivered)
  • TXT — Text records, including SPF, DKIM, and domain verification tokens
  • CNAME — Canonical name alias to another hostname
  • NS — Authoritative name servers for the domain
  • SOA — Start of Authority — zone serial, refresh interval, and primary nameserver
  • CAA — Certificate Authority Authorization — which CAs may issue SSL certificates

Step 3: Click Lookup

Results appear grouped by record type. Each record shows the raw data and TTL (how long resolvers cache the record).

Step 4: Copy Records

Hover any record row to reveal the copy button. Use "Copy All" to export everything at once.

Tips

  • Use TXT to debug SPF, DKIM, and DMARC email authentication
  • Use MX to verify mail routing before updating DNS
  • Use A + AAAA together to check dual-stack (IPv4/IPv6) support
  • TTL values show how long records are cached — low TTL means recent changes propagate quickly
  • DNS propagation can take up to 48 hours; this tool shows the current live value from Cloudflare resolvers
