How to Use the SVG Code Optimizer
Step 1: Choose an Optimization Level
Select a preset before pasting your SVG:
- Basic — removes the XML declaration, comments, and collapses extra whitespace. Safe for all SVGs.
- Standard (recommended) — also strips editor metadata, Inkscape/Sodipodi/Sketch attributes, redundant default attributes, and simplifies decimal numbers.
- Aggressive — maximum reduction; additionally removes
<title>and<desc>elements and shortens color values. Best for decorative icons where accessibility markup is not needed.
Step 2: Paste Your SVG
Paste your SVG markup into the Original SVG panel. Press Ctrl+Enter or click Optimize SVG to run the selected passes.
Step 3: Review the Result
The Optimized SVG panel shows the cleaned output alongside a size comparison (before / after / bytes saved / % reduction).
Step 4: Copy or Download
Click Copy Output to copy to the clipboard, or Download .svg to save the optimized file directly.
