How to Use the JSON Payload Size Analyzer
Step 1: Paste Your JSON
Paste any JSON payload into the input field. This can be a REST API response, request body, config file, or any valid JSON.
Step 2: Read the Summary Metrics
- Raw Size — byte count of the JSON exactly as pasted (including whitespace and indentation)
- Minified — byte count after stripping all non-essential whitespace
- Gzip Estimate — actual compressed size using the browser's CompressionStream API
- Top-level Fields — number of keys at the root of the object (or items in a root array)
- Total Keys — all keys across every nesting level
- Max Depth — how deeply nested the structure is
Step 3: Inspect the Field Breakdown
Each top-level field is listed with its byte size, type, and share of the total payload. Fields are sorted largest-first so the biggest cost centres are immediately visible.
