How to Use the HAR File Analyzer
Step 1: Export a HAR File
In your browser DevTools:
- Open DevTools (F12 or Cmd+Opt+I) → Network tab
- Reload the page you want to analyze
- Right-click any request in the list → "Save all as HAR with content"
- Save the
.harfile to your computer
Step 2: Upload the File
Drag and drop the .har file onto the upload area, or click to browse. Files up to 25MB are supported.
Step 3: Review the Summary
The tool instantly shows:
- Total requests, total size, total time, and average time per request
- Status code breakdown — 2xx / 3xx / 4xx / 5xx request counts
- Resource type breakdown — document, stylesheet, script, image, font, media, xhr, other
Step 4: Sort and Filter
- Sort — by request order, slowest first, or largest first
- Filter by status — isolate 4xx/5xx errors or redirects
- Filter by resource type — focus on just images, scripts, or XHR calls
The request table shows method, URL, status, resource type, response size, and time for every entry.
