Cookie Security Analyzer — Audit HttpOnly, SameSite, and Secure Attributes
Paste one or more Set-Cookie response headers to check for missing HttpOnly, Secure, and SameSite flags. Each cookie is scored with a risk level (Safe to Critical) and a per-flag breakdown explaining the security impact.
How to Use Cookie Security Analyzer — Audit HttpOnly, SameSite, and Secure Attributes
How to Use the Cookie Security Analyzer:
Paste Set-Cookie headers: Copy the raw Set-Cookie response headers from your browser DevTools (Network tab → select a request → Response Headers → Set-Cookie) or from your server configuration. Paste one header per line. The tool strips the "Set-Cookie:" prefix automatically.
Load an example: Click any of the example buttons to load a pre-built scenario — including a perfectly configured cookie, one with a missing HttpOnly flag, and the critical SameSite=None without Secure misconfiguration.
Reading the results:
Each cookie is displayed as a card with:
- Risk badge: SAFE / LOW RISK / MEDIUM RISK / HIGH RISK / CRITICAL — the overall rating for that cookie
- Security checks: One card per check (HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite, and Expiry) showing pass or fail with an explanation of the impact
- Parsed Attributes: All cookie directives extracted from the header, shown as chips for quick review
The overall summary at the top shows the worst risk level across all analyzed cookies and a count of total issues.
Understanding risk levels:
- SAFE: HttpOnly + Secure + SameSite=Strict or Lax — fully hardened
- LOW RISK: Secure + HttpOnly present but SameSite is missing
- MEDIUM RISK: One of HttpOnly or Secure is missing
- HIGH RISK: Both HttpOnly and Secure are missing
- CRITICAL: SameSite=None without Secure — rejected by modern browsers and transmits cookies over plain HTTP
