How to Use Bcrypt Hash Generator — Password Hashing Tool

How to Use the Bcrypt Hash Generator:

  1. Generate a Hash: Enter a password in the input field. Select a cost factor (default 12 is recommended for most uses). Click "Generate Hash." The bcrypt hash appears in the output field within 1–2 seconds.

  2. Copy the Hash: Click the copy button next to the hash output to copy it to your clipboard.

  3. Verify a Password: Switch to the Verify tab. Enter the password you want to check and paste the bcrypt hash. Click "Verify." The tool shows whether the password matches the hash.

  4. Choose a Cost Factor: The cost factor controls how slow the hashing is. Cost 12 is the recommended default for web applications in 2025 (~300ms). Use lower values (8–10) for quick testing. Never use a cost below 10 in production.

  5. Privacy: Everything runs in your browser. No data is sent to any server.
